WELCOME TO INNERMORE ARTS
I'm Stephanie Burns (ERYT-200). I offer mindful yoga and movement classes for older adults with an emphasis on balance and stability.
It's my belief that yoga and mindful movement hold deep healing potential for students of all ages.
I invite you to join me in exploring the possibilities for yourself through the live and recorded class offerings you'll find below.
“I believe that the physical body is a gateway to our inner wisdom, and that mindful practices such as yoga and intentional movement facilitate connection to that wisdom.”

Mindful Stretch is a dynamic one-hour, chair-based class intended to cultivate suppleness, strength and stability in the over-50 body. The practice is both seated and standing and requires a sturdy chair and occasionally additional props such as a yoga strap or blocks. Participants report improvements in balance, flexibility and focus.

Recorded classes to fit your schedule. Select from Chair Yoga, Mindful Stretch, Pilobolus Connecting with Balance and more. All for $35 per month.

Working one-on-one with a teacher can be a great way to deepen your practice, to focus on specific physical issues or simply to explore more advanced poses that you’re reluctant to try in class without the supportive eye of an experienced practitioner. Private sessions can be beneficial on so many levels, and can be arranged at times to better suit your schedule.

What sort of equipment do I need for Mindful Stretch?
A sturdy, armless chair for both the seated and standing portions of the class as well as your laptop or tablet that has the Zoom software. Make sure to set up your device so you can see Stephanie on the screen and she can see you as well. Other props we'll use from time to time include a yoga block and strap as well as a small ball like a tennis ball and a hand or kitchen towel.
What if I have to miss class in the series?
Stephanie is happy to provide a recording of the class that you can view as many times as you like for 7 days. However, you must notify her of your absence via text or email at least one hour in advance.
My balance is very unsteady. Can I really expect it to improve?
If you're feeling unsteady, all the more reason to work on your balance. If we don't challenge ourselves in class and embrace feeling wobbly, we won't be prepared when missteps invariably occur out in the world. With balance, there's always more to improve.
